Sims 3: Millionaire Manor Installation Process

Installation:

  1. Make sure any mods you want to use are already installed before launching The Sims 3.
  2. Launch The Sims 3 from Origin and wait for the Launcher to open.
  3. Click the Add to Game link on The Sims 3 Exchange page for Millionaire Manor. Millionaire Manor will then be downloaded and added to the Downloads section of The Sims 3 Launcher.
  4. Click the Downloads button on the left side of The Sims 3 Launcher if you're not already in the Downloads section.
  5. Find "Millionaire Manor" in your list of downloads and click to tick the white box to the left of it.
  6. Once Millionaire Manor is ticked, click Install at the bottom of the The Sims 3Launcher and wait until you get a message box informing you the install is complete. If installed correctly, there should be an icon in the Status field next to Millionaire Manor in your download list. Hovering over this icon will show Installed in a tooltip if the lot is correctly installed.

Adding Millionaire Manor to your Town:

  1. Once Millionaire Manor is installed, click the Play button to launch The Sims 3 as normal.
  2. Load a saved town or start a new town. The town you load or start must include a 60 x 60 lot, preferably one that is already available and zoned residential.

    Some Recommended Lots:
15 Summer Hill Court in Sunset Valley
345 Riverblossom Hills Drive in Riverview
101 Alta Vista in the custom world Brooklyn Heights by MySimRealty (Ambitions and World Adventures are recommended)
Bridgeport does not contain any 60 x 60 residential lots, but you can bulldoze the community lot at 911 Atkins Highway and rezone it as residential if you really want to.
  3. Click Edit Town in the Main Menu. (You can do this before creating or moving in your sim on a new game.)
  4. Make sure your town has an available 60 x 60 sized residential lot. (If you know what you're doing, and what you're giving up, you can also bulldoze an existing 60 x 60 lot and re-zone it as residential if necessary.)
  5. Click the Empty Houses tab in the selection menu at the bottom of the screen. Millionaire Manor should be included in the list of houses available.
  6. Click on Millionaire Manor in the Empty Houses tab.
  7. Click Place Copy in the information box that pops up.
  8. Click on the available 60 x 60 residential lot where you would like to place Millionaire Manor. It will take a little while to load the next part so be patient.
  9. When the Rotate Lot screen comes up, you can use the curved arrow buttons on the left and right of the screen to rotate the lot if you need to. Make sure that the driveway connects to the road in front of the lot, then click the Accept button.
  10. Next click on the lot again to bring up the information box for the selected lot. The lot selected should contain the information for Millionaire Manor.
  11. Click the Build/Buy icon at the bottom of this information box.
  12. Check to see if the mailbox and trash can are outside the front gate by the road. If the front of the lot is not flat, these items may automatically be moved. If they're not placed correctly, you'll need to locate them (somewhere in the yard) and move them somewhere outside the gate, pointed so that your sims can access them. If the lot where you placed the house won't allow you to place these anywhere outside the gate, you can rebuild the front of the fence and move the gate to allow more room to place them, but I don't recommend doing this unless you absolutely have to.
  13. If the mailbox and trash can are correctly placed (usually you won't even need to move them) click the Main Menu button, then click Edit Town.
  14. Once back to the Edit Town screen, you can save your town in the Main Menu.
  15. Click Return to Game or Return to Game Setup at the top of the screen.
  16. Now that Millionaire Manor has been placed, you can move your sims into the manor the same way you would move them into any house.
